Burger King and Wendy’s Unveil $5 Deals

Burger adversaries Wendy's & Burger King are going neck to neck with virtually identical new deals. Both fast-food chains have just released $5 value meals, likely in the hopes of winning over each other's customers.

Burger King skilled the return of Wendy's famous $5 Biggie Bag by releasing an almost identical $5 Your Way Value Meal around the same time.

If you would like to understand who did it first, Wendy's was debuting its $5 deal in 2019. Burger King didn't launch its version until December of 2021.

Burger King's $5 Your Way Value Meal features a Double Whopper Jr., 4-piece nuggets ($1.59), small fries ($2.49), and a little drink ($2.29). While the Double Whopper Jr. isn't sold separately at most locations, a Whopper Jr. runs about $2.69.

Wendy's $5 Biggie Bag allows customers to choose from three different sandwich options: the Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger, Double Stack, or classic Crispy Chicken BLT.

If you were to shop for a Double Stack ($3.09), 4-piece chicken nuggets ($2.19), small fry ($2.19), and little drink ($2.19) separately, the meal would cost $9.66 before tax.

Customers at Wendy's will get three times the Bonus Rewards points on Biggie Bag purchases made through the mobile app.

Wendy's $5 Biggie Bag also includes several different burger options. When paired with a relatively better discount with the inclusion of the rewards program, it makes Wendy's the winner of this neck-to-neck battle.
